Co-Founder and CEO of XPERTCARE®. Emmanuel brings expertise in public health, healthcare administration, and management. Prior to XPERTCARE®, he was the Associate Director of Masters of Science Programs at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School where he established systems and processes of managing over 1200 students. He was also the Program Manager of the Master of Science in Health Care Management program where he oversaw educational activities of students in the program. He also worked on healthcare projects with different companies including Inova Hospital, Somatus, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. As a recognition of his leadership, he was selected to participate in the Johns Hopkins University Leadership Development Program – a premier training program for JHU leaders. He is an expert in the areas of strategic planning, streamlining processes, market assessment, new business development, and project management. He has been on numerous assignments overseas including business trips to China, Kenya, India, Rwanda, and Turkey. He got his undergraduate degree from Makerere University in Uganda, Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Management from University of Witwatersrand South Africa, MBA from University of Maryland University College, MHA from University of Maryland University College. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
Dr. Susan Huang
Chief Medical Officer
Harvard trained Physician-innovator passionate about improving healthcare delivery through technology and process improvement. Expert in telemedicine and novel care delivery models. Currently at Palo Alto Medical Foundation/Sutter Healthcare, executing telemedicine efforts and innovation in care delivery. Previous Departmental Director of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Former Chief Resident and Chair of Quality Improvement Committee for the Harvard Combined Residency Program in Dermatology. Susan received her bachelor's degree from Harvard University and trained at Harvard Medical School where she also completed post graduate training.
Clinical expertise beyond general dermatology include contact dermatitis, skin cancer, and acne.
Dr. Garry Choy
MD, MBA, Co-Founder and Chief Medical Advisor
Dr. Garry Choy, Co-Founder and Chief Medical Advisor. He is a physician-entrepreneur and executive focused on healthcare informatics and innovation. Co-founder of CredSimple, a venture backed healthcare technology platform that digitizes and automates the currently labor-intensive and manual processes of medical credentialing and provider data management. CredSimple improves the verification process through better technology and query of practitioner primary source data.
Most recently Assistant Chief Medical Information Officer for Advanced Technologies at Massachusetts General Physicians Organization at MGH responsible for innovation and healthcare informatics/analytics. Currently focused on quality improvement and health IT - managing applications for a data analytics platform and developing a web-based learning platform for physicians. Clinical interests are focused on cardiothoracic, abdominal, and emergency imaging. Additional interests include applying technology and quality improvement strategies in telemedicine and global health. Garry also serves as Chief Medical Officer of Q, a venture-backed digital health company (Founders Fund and Andreessen Horowitz) building technology that quantifies, digitizes, and simulates human physiology.
Also has served as faculty member teaching at Harvard Medical School and Harvard College. Received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, a Masters of Science in Operations Research/Economic-Engineering Systems from Stanford University, and a Masters in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University. Completed medical training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine as well as Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Mass General Hospital.
Mark Harary, MD
Director of Sports Medicine Service
Dr. Mark Harary is Board Certified in Sports Medicine and Family Medicine. He went to medical school at Ross University, where he graduated with honors in 2002. He completed a family medicine residency at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and then completed his fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Dr. Harary specializes in the non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal problems in both pediatric and adult patients. He has a special interest in treating concussions, osteoarthritis, fractures and other acute injuries. He employs the most up to date treatments for these conditions, including ultrasound guided injections, PRP and Stem Cell treatments. He enjoys helping his patients return to, and maintain, active lifestyles.
Dr. Harary is a concussion specialist with St. Charles Hospital’s ThinkSMART!™ Concussion Management Program which provides baseline testing and concussion management for over 40 school districts in Suffolk County. He serves as the sideline team physician for the Commack High School and Miller Place High School football teams.
Thomas Pianta, MPT, ADVISOR
Chief Growth Officer, INOVA Mount Vernon Hospital
Tom has over 25 years of experience in clinical healthcare, healthcare management, clinical trial management, and business development. Tom has worked extensively with physicians, scientists, administrators, government, and pharmaceutical industry professionals.
Tom is currently the Chief Strategic Growth Officer for Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, VA. In this role, Tom leads the strategy and business development functions for a community hospital. Tom also has oversight for Support Services (EVS, Food Services, Engineering, Materials Management, Security), Orthopedics, Lab, and Radiology.
Tom has held previous roles in healthcare administration, consulting, and government contracting for CMS. Tom has been a member of the Maryland Council on Heart Disease and Stroke, and the reporting design committee for GBR for the MD HSCRC. Tom was elected the charter President of the newly-formed Maryland State Quality Improvement Council for Stroke.
Mr. Pianta received a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University School of Medicine in 1990. Tom received a Bachelor of Science as an Honors Scholar in Psychology from The University of Connecticut in 1986.
